Description
Mental Health First Aid training (MHFA) is designed for individuals interested in properly supporting those showing early or worsening signs of a mental health challenge. MHFA training covers anxiety disorders, depression, panic attacks, psychotic disorders, and substance use disorders.
CETLSS will be offering sessions in person as well as virtually. Do you have a group of 5+? Does your group want to attend a session together instead of individually? Please complete the MHFA Group Registration Form and we will contact you to schedule a session! We are happy to come to your department or host a group training within the CETLSS suite.
*Breaks will be offered during all sessions *Each session will offer a 1-hour lunch break
Objectives
- Grow your knowledge of signs, symptoms, and risk factors of mental illnesses and addictions.
- Identify multiple types of professional and self-help resources for individuals with a mental health or substance use challenge.
- Increase your confidence in and likelihood of helping an individual in distress.
- Show increased mental wellness in yourself.
* NOTE *Blended Sessions means each participant will have a 2-hour, self-paced introduction to the course to complete. The remainder of the course will be completed in person or virtually on the date listed below.
