Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning for Student Success

As part of the Inclusive Excellence Initiative, Academic Affairs will be hosting the Sustained Dialogue Institute (SDI). The Sustained Dialogue Institute has a rich history and experience working with faculty in higher education institutions worldwide. They are very familiar with our institution.

One faculty member from each department will be purposefully selected in conjunction with the Chair to represent the Department as the Inclusive Excellence (IE) Liaison at the workshop on April 27. IE Liaisons will gain an understanding and develop the skills necessary to integrate Inclusive Excellence through:

• Languages and concepts
• Support for underrepresented students
• The navigation of difficult dialogue and strong opinions
• Diversify curriculum and syllabi
• Classroom prevention and intervention strategies

Liaisons will bring this knowledge back to their departments to share with faculty and will serve as an Inclusive Excellence resource for Chairs. The IE Liaison will stay in contact with Dr. Brandy Bryson, Director of Inclusive Excellence and the Inclusive Excellence Team with the Center for Academic Excellence, to identify the IE needs of the department. The IE Liaison will also assist us in advertising the Inclusive Excellence Consultant's visit for fall 2018.
